Room Additions, ADUs, Attic Conversions, Decks & Patios

Home Additions & Outdoor Living

PrimeStone Construction Group is a licensed, structural engineer–owned design-build contractor that adds space to Colorado homes. From a bump-out or second-story addition to a detached ADU, an attic conversion, or a new deck, one team handles design, engineering, permits, and construction, so every addition is tied into your existing home correctly.

Why Choose PrimeStone for Your Addition

An addition has to work with the home you already have: its foundation, roofline, and mechanical systems. That is where engineering matters most:

  • Structural engineer–owned: New loads, openings, and tie-ins to your existing structure are engineered in-house.
  • True design-build: Design, engineering, permits, and construction under one contract.
  • Permits handled for you: We prepare applications and coordinate inspections with your local building department.
  • Built for Colorado: Expansive soils, snow loads, and local codes are part of every plan.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about adding space with PrimeStone.

What is the difference between a room addition, an ADU, and an attic conversion?
A room addition extends your existing home with new living space. An ADU is a secondary dwelling on your property. An attic conversion turns unused space under the roof into a bedroom, office, or living area without expanding the footprint.
Does an addition need structural engineering?
Yes. Any addition has to connect to your existing foundation, framing, and roof, and that connection needs to be engineered. As a structural engineer–owned firm, PrimeStone handles this in-house.
Do I need a permit for a home addition in Colorado?
Yes. Additions require building permits, and trade work such as electrical and plumbing is permitted separately. Requirements vary by city and county, and PrimeStone prepares the applications and manages inspections.
How much does a home addition cost?
It depends on the type and finish level. Bump-outs cost far less than ground-level or second-story additions, and ADUs and attic conversions have their own cost drivers. Each service page covers typical ranges, or you can request a free estimate.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the Denver metro and Colorado Front Range, including Aurora, Lakewood, Westminster, Thornton, Broomfield, Boulder, Golden, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, and Greenwood Village, as well as mountain communities such as Breckenridge, Vail, and Aspen.
